explore gear > backpacks & duffles > away the bigger carry-on
I spent longer than I am willing to admit debating between the Bigger Carry-On or the smaller Carry-On. I ended up going with the bigger one and am glad I did. First off, I’m an over packer so I liked that the bigger size allowed me to bring more gear with me. Secondly, I was concerned that the larger size wouldn’t fit into overhead bins when traveling on small planes, but fortunately this has never been a problem for me!
If you don’t already have a portable battery pack I would suggest tacking that on to your order. The Away bag has a built-in holder just under the handle for easy on-the-go charging. I bring the battery pack with me on camping trips or sometimes even longer day hikes to ensure I always have a full battery. I think it holds about 4 charges but don’t quote me on that.
There’s also a built-in lock but I’ve literally never used it - a nice feature nonetheless. I’ve used this bag for both weekend and week long trips. Last year I was amazed by how much it could hold when I went home for the holidays. The compression pad is a game changer as it allows you to fit in a ton of layers, and doubles as great pocket for undies and bras.
